And the blood rains down

In the far distant future, there is only war. Where untold trillions toil for the machine of war that is the Imperium of Man, where daemons bleed from the warp to slaughter in the thousands, a soul is nothing, but fuel for the fires of war. Amid this eternal carnage a strife lies Gore Swirl, a world that is not a world, a constantly changing plain of destruction, a guardian to a portal deep into the warp. He who controls the plain, controls the portal, and the destiny of the entire sector.
When battle was first joined, the Tyranids and the Sisters of Battle both fled the field, leaving only the Tau and the Acolytes of Change of the Chaos Space Marines. As the two remaining titans faced off once again to claim Gore Swirl, another army made planet fall. The Blood Angels chapter had come to play.

Turn 1
Tau-The Tau took the first shot, targeting the Warhound Titan of the newly Blood Angels, causing a system failure in the behemoth's double barreled turbo-laser. The remainder of the Tau turned their guns upon the Chaos Space, but were unable to harm the dug in worshipers of Chaos.
Blood Angels-While the crew of the Warhound went to work on repairing their dysfunctional weapon, both Mephiston and Asterath advanced with their respective squads of Death Company. Aterath's company opened fire upon a unit of Pathfinders killing one.
Chaos Space Marines-The Chaos Space Marines began by charging forward and the opening up upon Mephiston's squad, the only in range. The dreadnought managed to kill a single Death Company, before a Defiler closed in to get its claws dirty. The Defiler wounded the great Mephiston, a Death Company fell when the Defiler pressed its advantage after they refused to flee.

Turn 2
Tau- In a cunning maneuver, the Tau brought a Hammerhead onto the field behind the advancing Chaos line. Using remote marker drone, the Tau sent seeker missiles screaming accross the field, one striking home and causing catastrophic explosion on the Dreadnought, likely avenging their brethren from the previous battle. The Firewarriors on the front line open up on Asterath's squad, killing 2. A submunition from an already present Hammerhead removed another, and sniper drones removed another.
BA- The Warhound took its revenge upon the first thing it saw, a unit of Firewarriors who were creeping foward for a better shot. Killing 8 of them, the Warhound's imposing visage caused the remainder to flee. Mephiston and his retinue of Death Company make their presence felt when Mephiston himself destroys a Chaos Defiler, though the resulting explosion takes one of the company. Asterath's Death Company enters assault with the combined force of Firewarrior and Pathfinder squads, killing all 12 Firewarriors and a single Pathfinder for no wounds in return.
CSM- 2 units of Thousand Sons exit their Rhinos and take aim at Mephiston's Company, killing only 2. Across the field, another Thousand Son fires from the firepoint of his rhino, sending a Firewarrior to the Greater Dead. In an eerily familiar charge, a Defiler wrecks a Piranha, tossing the burnt out shell aside.

Turn 3
Tau- Due to high winds, a Hammerhead drifts into a Devilfish. Insurance was exchanged, but no game wardens were called. The Devilfish then drove off, badly in need of a new paint job. The remote drones once again light up the Chaos Space Marine zone. This time the seeker missiles destroy an empty rhino, immobilise a second, as well as the remaining defiler. Firewarriors in turn fire upon the Rhino and leave it a burnt out hull, next to their burnt out Piranha. Asterath's Company finished the last Pathfinder and moved off in search of new prey.
BA- Due to a faulty vox system, the Warhound's void shield Tech Priest receives his orders a bit late, but finally begins his ritual, bringing up some much needed protection. Mephiston's shoot and kill a Thousand son, while Asterath's shoot and kill 3 Firewarriors. The newly arrived Sanguinar and its Guard assault and destroy a piranha, while Aterath's Company assault and kill an entire squad of Firewarriors. Less effective, but no less devestating, Mephiston's Company Assaults a unit of Thousand Sons, killing 5, but losing 1 in return.
CSM- Obliterators, Sorceror with Terminator retinue, and Daemon Prince all arrive in a brilliant flash of warp light. The Obliterators open up on a Broadside, ending the threat. The Defiler, unable to move, swings its Battle Cannon on a unit of Firewarriors, killing 8. The Lesser Daemons charge the combat with Mephiston, adding their weight, but it is not enough, as Mephiston kills another Thousand Son, and his unit kills a single Daemon, neither representative of Chaos can cause any damage.

Turn 4
Tau- Once again turning the Aerial Denial Nodes upon the Titan, the Tau were able to remove the newly raised Void Shields. Sniper Drones take 2 of Asterath's squad, while the Commander lobs a Airburst Fragmentation round high into the air, taking another. In a stunning turn, the remaining Firewarriors charge a full Rhino, and leave it a wreck, thanks to their EMP grenades. Through combined fire power, the Tau also destroy the immobilised defiler, leaving now less than 4 wrecks from both sides in a giant heap of scrap.
BA- Sanguinar and squad shoot down a Hammerhead, while Asterath's Death Company shoot and assault the last broadside, ignoring both a Firewarrior squad, that was trying to climb the objective, and the Daemon Prince that meant to stop them. The on going combat between Mephiston and Chaos finally saw the end of the Thousand Sons and another Lesser Daemon, leaving a clear space for the nearby Chaos Terminators to enter the fray.
CSM- As only a true follower of Tzeentch could possibley have brought to fruition, the Chaos Space Marines bring together their final plan, moving the single remaining Rhino, which was completely untouched and forgotten onto the hill, claiming it in the name of the Great Schemer, sealing the day and the fate of the sector for a whole week.

While in a position to threaten Mephiston, remove the Firewarriors who dared attempt to take the prize, and lay waste to the Firewarriors who did so much damage to their Rhinos, the Acolytes of Change were content to take the day through cunning and guile and then let the survivors escape with their heads bent in defeat.

A King has been named! But a war has not ended. There are many who would see the Acolytes replaced. Will they be successful, or will the schemers once again sneak one in to continue their rein?
