For six long days the sector knew peace. It prospered under an iron fist. Daemons grew fat off of small children. Treasures were plundered. Innocents were sacrificed. Schemes were schemed. Plots were plotted. Conspiracy, espionage, and intrigue abounded. Webs of deceit were spun.
Sadly, there were those who, to simple to put forth proper plans, turned to the only way they knew, strength of arms. Once again, war gripped Goreswirl.
Environmental Hazard- Acid Rain
King- Chaos Space Marines lead by Allan Wilger
Turn 1
Necrons- As acid rain fell, shaking a Rhino's crew with its corrosiveness, three fell Monoliths appeared through the steady drizzle. Their collective Gauss Arcs killed four Firewarriors, causing the rest to flee, and ripped the gun from off of a nearby Defiler.
Tau- While acid rain continued to reek havoc, removing a piranha's fusion blaster, the Tau opened fire, shaking two of the Monoliths in a rain of fire.
Tyranids- Opening fire with everything in range, the Tyranids were able to wreck a King's Rhino.
Chaos Space Marines- Obliterators opened up on a Monolith, in a stunning display of firepower. Everything not assaulting popped smoke, while the Dreadnought in a blood rage assaults into a Monolith along with a Defiler. To the song of grinding, screeching metal the D-Team go to work, leaving the Monolith a smoking husk.
Turn 2
Necrons- A swarm of Tomb Scarabs awaken... somewhere else. In retaliation for the destruction of their Monolith, a unit of Immortals lay fire upon the Defiler, immobilizing it and removing 2 arms.
Tau- A Broadside opens up his rail guns on a Monolith, turning it into a shower of shrapnel, that promptly kills a Firewarrior and a Gun Drone. The other Broadside explodes a Rhino, killing 2 of the Thousand Sons inside, and a Sniper Drone Team kills another.
Nids- Gaunts from a Landing Spore kill 5 Terminators through sustained fire. A Hive Tyrant charges into the Thousand Sons dismounted last turn, but can't penetrate their armour(seriously, 5 1's to wound). The Sons had no such problem, and cause a wound in return.
CSM- After unloading upon the gaunts, the Chaos Space Marine force had left 17 dead. The Daemon Prince assaults into the Hive Tyrant, while a Defiler charges in over the top of the smoking Rhino. Unfortunately, the Defiler becomes entangled, and fails to make combat. The Prince slays the Tyrant, but takes 2 wounds in return and another for not washing up afterwards. The Terminators assault the last of the gaunts and the Spore Pod, killing the last gaunts and doing two wounds to the Spore Pod. Finally, across the field, the Dread assaults a Piranha, and kills to Firewarriors in the explosion.
Turn 3
Necrons- With a flash 3 Tomb Spyders and 10 Tomb Swarms awaken near Tau territory. 10 Warriors step out of the Monolith's portal, but 1 trips on the laser wire, leaving 9. The remaining Warriors fire upon a unit of Sons, killing 2, while a unit of Immortals kills a squads last 8 Firewarriors.
Tau- In a stunning turn of events, the Tau fire. Finishing the wounded Prince with some Sniper Drones, immobilizing the Dread with a Broadside, and killing a gaunt with the Devilfish.
Nids- Trygon finishes an Aspiring Sorcerer and an Thousand Son icon bearer, the last of their unit. And the Genestealers went to town. 1 unit killed all the Lesser Daemons, another killed a unit of Firewarriors, and a third hunted down a squad of Immortals.
CSM- Obliterators kill 4 Genestealers sneaking toward the objective, Thousand Sons in the Rhino kill another, and the Sorcerer Lord cast Bolt of Change on the last. Across the objective, a unit of Thousand Sons returns fire on the Warriors, killing 2, and follow in with assault.
Turn 4
Necrons- A spyder and 6 swarms awaken. Immortals end a Broadside in a hail of fire, while the newly slain Immortals join their cousins and slay the offending Stealer. The Thousand Sons killed 2 more Warriors, up close this time.
Tau- Acid rain finally finishes the Defiler that defiled the Monolith and causes the inbound Sha'O to become incredibly lost, but he still manages to kill 6 gaunts with his Air Bursting Fragmentation Launcher. The combined fire from an Area Denial Node using submunition, and a Skyray using its Smart Missile System removes an entire squad of Genestealers. The HammerHeads submunition knocks down 2 Immortals, while the Firewarriors knock down 2 more. The plasma Crisis team sends 2 gaunts back to the biomass as well. A very effective turn of combined firepower on the side of the Tau.
Nids- Tyranid Warriors kill a Tomb Swarm, while the Trygon knocks down 2 Immortals, and the Zoanthrope dies to perils of the warp. The gaunts hastily assault the Shas'O in retaliation, and 2 die.
CSM- The forces of Chaos follows the Tau's example and fire a unit of Thousand Sons, Obliterators, and the Sorcerer's Bolt of Change at the Swarmlord dealing a combined total of 4 wounds.
Turn 5
Necrons- Another 3 Tomb Swarms awaken, Immortals kill other Zoanthrope, and the Monoliths Gauss Arc wrecks the last Rhino.
Tau- Firewarriors shoot 3 Sons, while the Sniper Drones and Gun Drones kill a swarm and put 2 wounds on another. Plasma Crisis team finishes off 3 gaunts, and the Shas'O kills another in combat.
Nids- Old One Eye assaults a Sons unit. Trygon assaults the Obliterators, killing the wounded one, but taking 2 wounds in return. Gaunts and Lictor assault the plasma suits, killing 1 and wounding another, before the Lictor is struck down.
CSM- Obliterators kill the Trygon at the cost of a wound, and the Sorcerer Lord assaults the Old One Eye, killing it with a well placed power fist.
Turn 6
Necrons- Another Tomb Spyder and its 9 swarms awaken. Monolith arc kills 4 gaunts and an Obliterator. The Immortals follow up by stepping through the Monoliths gate and finishing off the Obliterator squad. Swarms assault some Firewarriors and a Sniper team and lose 2 wounds. The large swarm assaults the Swarmlord, Sorcerer Lord, and a Devilfish, destroying the fish and killing the sorcerer.
Tau- With both Nodes functional, they unleash combined destroyer fire on a Monolith, removing the last working Monolith from the board. The Gun Drones continue their rain of terror, killing 2 Necron Warriors.
Nids- Tyranid Warriors assault the ongoing Swarmlord, Tomb Swarms combat. The combined Tyranid assault removed 7 swarms.
CSM- With only a single squad of Sons locked in combat withe some Necron Warriors, the kings 6th turn was largely uneventful. Especially considering that neither side caused a wound.
Turn 7
